Join us for a special member sail on the Skipjack Sigsbee, visiting from the Chesapeake Bay!
Originally built in 1901, Sigsbee served in an oystering fleet for 88 years, and became notable as the first skipjack with a woman captain. Today, Sigsbee sails the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays, teaching students about the ecology, history, and economic importance of her local waters.
Important safety information: Children must be age 9 or older to attend. All children under the age of 18 will be required to wear a life jacket. Life jackets are provided for all, but you are welcome to bring your own.
This is a rain or shine event. Please dress appropriately for the weather, and bring a warm layer and sun protection. Closed toed shoes are required.
Space is limited and registration is required. Please only register if you will attend, and let us know if your plans change so we may open up spots.
