Educator Workshop: Hands-on Opportunities at the Seaport
Tuesday, May 13th from 5 PM to 8 PM
Join Independence Seaport Museum, network with fellow educators while gaining new skills and content, and get professional development hours/credit!
In this workshop, educators will focus on our hands-on and experiential opportunities at the Seaport! From the Seaport Boat Shop to our docks to our interactive field trip programs, check out all we have to offer.
Workshop will rely on the following format:
- Introductions and Overview
- Objectives, Evaluation, and Admin
- Context for Black History along the Delaware River
- Skills and Framework: focus, slowing down, and embracing new challenges
- Tour of exhibit and sampling oral histories
- Classroom Application Workshop
- Review
- Wrap-up and Evaluation
Registration for this workshop includes access to the materials, Act 48 credit for PA teachers, and light dinner. These workshops take place after public hours, so educators get exclusive access to resources and museum areas!
