Kayak Excursion – Ecotour
For those kayakers who want to get out of the basin and onto the Delaware River itself! This two (2) mile excursion is ideal for beginner to intermediate kayakers who can paddle with or against the current for a short distance.
We hope you can join us for the last kayaking trip of the year where we’ll explore the Delaware River up close and learn about a vital tributary of the Atlantic Ocean that provides clean drinking water to 15 million people in the region. From how industry has contributed to the ever changing landscape, to current efforts to preserve and promote a healthy river ecosystem, we’ll discuss the river’s deep connection to our city’s history.
This excursion will begin with a safety talk and tips for being out on the water, and altogether will take about two hours to complete and return to our dock. Because it is a bit later in the year, please prepare for the likelihood of colder weather and some winds.
Admission for this program only includes access to the ISM Basin and the boat rental.
Please note that our kayaks are not ADA accessible. If you have any accessibility questions, please email nperez@phillyseaport.org.
Participants must be aged 18+
